Stay in the know and engaged at UMD

Keep Connected

Message from Vice President for Student Affairs Patty Perillo
Dear Terps,

We miss you like crazy!  You are the energy and lifeline to this campus community and it just does not feel like home without you here physically.  While we know you will return, again and again and again eventually, we wanted to stay in touch with you during this time of physical distancing.  You need to know that while we aren’t together in one space, we are together in love and spirit for that is what it means to be a Terp!

My team and I, in the Division of Student Affairs, continue to think about ways we can keep connected and together!  So, every week you will get this email as a way to remind you that we are here for you – always!  Use these resources to find ways to take care of yourselves, to support others and to remain connected to YOUR university. We never forget that you are the reason we are here. You got this! And, we got you!  Enjoy all that you will discover here!

Stay healthy and well - Patty

Living & Learning

On April 14, residents will be notified of their ability to participate, learn their appointment times, and begin to form groups and seek out potential roommates. Chaplains are happy to connect with students just to chat and check-in. You can keep updated on special programs and online services at the Memorial Chapel website. Contact information for all of the UMD Chaplains is available at the Chaplains website.

Engagement in online learning impacts you, your classmates, faculty members, and the greater UMD community. Students are expected to conduct yourself in the same manner as you would if you were taking the class in-person. Students who violate these expectations, or others as outlined by University policies, are in violation of the Code of Student Conduct and will be referred to the Office of Student Conduct for disciplinary action. Egregious violations may result in suspension or expulsion from the University.   Please visit the Student Conduct website to review our expectations of students in an online environment.

Have you been counted?

Census 2020

Students who have lived this year in residence halls, Greek Houses, South Campus Commons and The Courtyards do not need to complete individual census surveys.  You will be counted as part of the information that UMD provides to the Census Bureau through the Group Quarters electronic transfer process.  All other UMD students can complete their census survey online, by phone, or mail.
