Stay in the know and engaged at UMD

Keep Connected

Weekly message to University of Maryland Students from Vice President for Student Affairs Patty Perillo. April 22, 2020.
Dear Terps,

We continue to care about you and your experience. We know your world changed 5-6 weeks ago and you are now into week 3-4 of online learning, depending on your class schedule. It is a lot to manage. So, if you need to checkout sometimes please do so without feeling bad or guilty about it. Read a book in the backyard! Take a long walk in the sunshine! Enjoy a nap! Space out in an ENO! Do whatever you need to care for yourself for "checking out" is a normal and natural human response to all you are experiencing. BUT, please make sure you check back in!  You've got three more weeks of spring semester classes. You need to stay the course and we want you to be successful. If you need any help or support at all, email vpsa@umd.edu and someone on my team will follow-up ASAP. We care for you! Always have and always will! You got this! We got you! Reach out if you need anything at all! We are here and will remain!

Be well and stay healthy. - Patty

Health & Wellness

A few weeks ago the University Health Center launched its first-ever podcast, Any Questions? covering topics related to mental health, sexual health, alcohol and other drugs, and power-based violence. Stay connected to your mental health while staying at home with the Counseling Center's drop-in virtual workshops! Click here for more information and to access the Zoom links. Making the shift to online learning is tough. The Office of Undergraduate Studies is here to offer you help, though.
