We know that times are complicated, and things can sometimes feel overwhelming, and that is why we wanted to offer you good information about ways to stay healthy. Stay connected to your mental health while staying at home with the Counseling Center's drop-in virtual workshops! Join us for workshops including Navigating the New Normal: Coping with COVID-19, Tips for Managing Stress and Emotions, Healthy Communication and Relationships, and Time Management. Click here for more information and to access the Zoom links. Please note that these skill-building workshops are open to all students and are not a confidential therapy space. Advanced registration is not required.

Campus Advocates Respond and Educate (CARE) to Stop Violence provides free, confidential advocacy and therapy services to primary and secondary survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. For urgent needs, please call our 24/7 Crisis Cell at 301-741-3442. For non-urgent advocacy needs, contact uhc-care@umd.edu for assistance Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

This Wednesday, April 29 is Denim Day. People across the globe will be sharing images of themselves in denim outfits to demonstrate their solidarity with survivors and their commitment to ending victim-blaming. We encourage you to share pictures of your denim looks on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and tag CARE (@careumd) with the hashtag #DenimDay and #RaiseYourVoiceUMD. Participants will automatically gain the opportunity to win raffle prizes!

On Thursday, April 30, at 8 p.m., join CARE for Sexual Assault Awareness Month Themed Virtual Trivia and prizes. For more information and to register, visit go.umd.edu/RYVTrivia2020.

On Friday, May 1, join CARE on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to share your hopes and plans for sexual assault prevention under #RaiseYourVoiceUMD, moving forward from Sexual Assault Awareness Month! The Campus Pantry is committed to providing emergency food for our campus community during the coronavirus outbreak. The Campus Pantry is located at the South Campus Dining Hall loading dock and is open 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Tuesday and Friday.

Room Selection Apartment, Traditional Hall Shop and Select begins Tuesday, April 28 and finishes on Friday, May 1. This is the second of three phases where current campus residents can select their housing assignments either in groups of two to four, or as individuals.

It can be confusing to sort through all of the advice on how to stay healthy right now. Luckily, RecWell and the University Health Center have teamed up to provide the Well in a Shell blog. The most recent edition provides tips for managing anxiety, accomplishing to-do list items efficiently while combating procrastination, and suggestions for sneaking exercise into your daily routine

It's Pride Month and LGBTQ+ Student Involvement and Advocacy is hosting a series of Netflix Watch Parties featuring some of Netflix's best LGBTQ+ film offerings, starting with a Paris Is Burning Watch Party this Thursday.

Student Entertainment Events continues to bring you great virtual content! They’re sharing live weekly DIYs, including this week's project, a DIY phone holder! SEE also has a Live at 5 series with a live band playing every Friday, streaming on their Facebook page.

The STAMP Gallery's traditional MFA midpoint art show moves online! Join us for a series of three video premieres, each one featuring one of three UMD second-year MFA candidates. The first Curtains video drops Thursday at 6 p.m. on YouTube.

If you’re feeling the need to do something new and to make something cool, Studio A has a DIY video series that began with a play-doh making demo and will continue weekly with new crafts or art projects. 

Career Development experts from across campus share their thoughts on how Terps can use their skills to manage through these uncertain times. Read more at Building Careers During Crisis.

The federal government continues to hire and is a great option for graduates looking to enter the job market during this time. USAJobs has created a new COVID-19 search field for positions open to aid COVID-19 crisis. Also, USAJobs continues to provide Student & Recent Graduate opportunities.

The Career Center created a self-paced Resume Basics Module that will help you as you work to develop and refine your resume. Work through at your own pace. The entire module is about 20 minutes. Login with your UMD credentials!

Prepare for future interviews with InterviewStream, a virtual/video mock interviewing tool. It provides on-screen, videotaped interview scenarios that allows you to practice your answers to common interview questions.  

UMD students have free access to LinkedIn Learning, an online learning service that can help professionals learn software, design, and business skills to achieve their personal and professional goals. There are also many videos that can assist students in their career development. For free access, log in here with your UMD credentials.

Count Me In!

Video Challenge

Have some free time on your hands with social distancing and are a member of the UMD community? Participate in OCE's Count Me In Video Challenge! Creatively showcase in a short video why the census matters and the importance of completing the census. Prizes totaling $1,000 will be awarded to the selected winners! Student Scholarship

The application deadline for the Maryland Parent & Family Association Student Scholarship Awards has been extended to 5 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020. The scholarships provide assistance to current undergraduate students in good standing who may be unable to continue their education at the University due to extenuating personal or family financial circumstances. Award criteria, instructions, and online application can be found at go.umd.edu/MPFAscholarship2020.
