Dear UMD Student:
I trust that you and your family are doing well. I also hope that you’re settling in well into your fall semester. It’s very encouraging to see our campus starting to “stir” again with student activity, and I’d like to congratulate each of you for your commitment to taking care of yourself and each other by following our safety requirements.
As we continue to make plans for your academic progress, I’m very pleased to let you know that our Spring 2021 Schedule of Classes (SOC) will be published on Testudo tomorrow. This timely publication of the schedule will allow you to select your courses, complete your academic advising, and register in a timely manner for the Spring 2021 Semester. You should be receiving an email from the Office of the Registrar on, or around, October 7 concerning your registration appointment.
Of course, being four and a half months away from the start of the spring semester, we don’t know what the status of the pandemic will be at that point in time. As such, the university will continue to assertively monitor the circumstances; and, just like we did for this fall semester, we’ll make any necessary adjustments to the course delivery methods (i.e. whether a given course will remain face-to-face, or will instead be offered online or in a blended format). The Spring 2021 SOC, with updated delivery methods, will be finalized by December 4, 2020.
Happy Spring 2021 planning, and best wishes for continued optimism and success in your studies!
Sincerely,

Adrian R. Cornelius
University Registrar
